Tate McRae has one of those voices you can’t help but fall in love with instantly.

Born and based in Canada, the 16-year-old singer and dancer has been in the spotlight for a large part of her life. In fact, she competed in Season 13 of So You Think You Can Dance. She just released her first official song “Tear Myself Apart”, a vulnerable track about having a relationship suck everything out of you.

“It’s a very dramatic and intense song, but it’s real and honest,” McRae admits. “It’s easy to get caught-up in a relationship and take everything out on yourself. ‘Tear Myself Apart’ comes directly from the heart.”

“My songs are all of the words I can never say,” she explains. “I have a very hard time conveying my feelings through speaking, so I write in order to express myself. I sit in front of the piano and try to tell a story. Writing is how I let out everything that’s happened to me. It’s my way of really communicating.”

Tate McRae’s smooth vocals are mesmerizing, and easily make her someone to keep on your radar. Listen to it here and check out the music video below!
