There’s dreamy, modern-day pop ballads, and then there’s “Miss U” by Ruby Duff.
The 22-year-old from England has released her second single “Miss U” today, and it has the feeling of a huge pop ballad, yet it feels so spontaneous at the same time. It’s exciting, refreshing, and will definitely have you craving for more from Ruby Duff!
Ruby says, “It’s difficult to describe my songwriting process. Rarely do I sit down to actively write a song. Most of the melodies come to me through dreams, which I then pick out on the piano before the traces disappear.”
There’s a certain predictability in music these days, and to the trained ear the tired pattern of chords and lyrics can mostly be anticipated. Ruby Duff’s music allows you to expect the unexpected.
