Meeting the Jonas Brothers – Happiness Begins Tour San Diego

When I was younger I was obsessed with a ton of artists… and that really hasn’t changed, but since I was younger I was a lot more uh… how shall we say this…

Okay but I was young. I was a child! Being someone who grew up in the 2000’s, the Jonas Brothers were and still are a huge deal to so many people from my generation. I never got to see them when I was younger, and even right before the breakup I still wasn’t able to see them. So when the guys got back together, I already knew a tour was in the works and that I’d be there no matter what.

Yesterday the Jonas Brothers brought their Happiness Begins Tour to Pechanga Arena in San Diego. I made sure to get a pit ticket to the show and a backstage tour VIP upgrade. How much did all of that cost?

Anyways, I got to the venue pretty early. I said hi to friends then walked up to the door where our VIP check in was going to take place. We waited for everyone to get checked in, and then the line got split into two. There were going to be two groups for the backstage tour, and I was in the first one!

We got to hang out in the GA pit for a little while, observe the stage setup and learn about what it took to put it together. It was really interesting and (I mean that’s stuff I SHOULD know about, right?). Then we walked underneath the stage, saw all the road cases and ended up walking towards the loading dock and back by the busses.

We filled in the left pit, which was the opposite side of where I’d be on for the actual show!

And then it was playtime! We got to take pictures with the memorabilia and the SOS sign during the “memory lane” portion.

This was the first time in my life that I had EVER picked up a guitar.
Do these outfits look familiar to you?

When we were done, we walked back to the concourse and waited for the other group to do their tour. After that, everyone started heading downstairs for the meet and greet. There were so many people in line for the meet and greet honestly I was like

Fortunately, the VIP coordinators decided to bring everyone who had pit tickets and LaneOne to the front of the line… so that meant I got to go up there! It was a bit of a wait until the guys came out, but once they did I was like WELL SHOOT. I only have a few seconds to figure out what I’m going to do here. I had been waiting for this moment for so long, and I really didn’t have a plan. Oh, get it together Chels!

The guys took a tiny break before it was my turn. Once I got flagged to go into the area, I gave everyone handshakes. I didn’t feel like asking them for hugs because I’m sure they were already exhausted, my jacket had glitter on it from my perfume, and a handshake = eye contact. That’s exactly what went down. Their eyes are PRETTY, especially Kevin’s. I should also mention at once that they were way shorter than I thought they’d be. We took the pic, and then I told them that I loved “Lonely” (which is their collaboration with Diplo. Of course I’m going to mention that.) They were all like haha thanks.

SURPRISE SURPRISE!

Then I went to grab my belongings, and I ran off to the pit! Jordan McGraw and Bebe Rexha were great openers, but when it was the for the Jonas Brothers to take the stage, it was truly magical. I hadn’t taken even a single glance of the setlists from prior shows, and I’m glad that I kept that as a surprise to myself.

The guys played almost 2 hours worth of hits – both new and old.

Out of ALL the shows I’ve ever attended at Pechanga Arena, this was the loudest by far. And for a good reason too!

Thank you guys for an incredible night!
