South Africa-born indie pop singer Aimee deBeer has released the music video for her single “The Takeover”.
“The Takeover” comes from Aimee deBeer’s latest EP Who Will Save the Universe?.
“‘The Takeover’ is my favorite song from Who Will Save the Universe?— it also serves as the final piece to the entire project,” she explains. “The song grapples with a current and looming threat to humanity’s experience of awe and inquiry — Technology. In an age of easy answers, is there a place for the fragile nature of wonder; of reconciling oneself with the unknown?”
Aimee’s pet rabbit, Juniper, who she found next to the front door of her home, is featured in the video. She also sewed and designed all of the clothing worn in the video.
