Do you ever ponder upon the thought of why we REALLY go to concerts? Why is it so important that we see our favorite artists live? Why do we sometimes sacrifice so much just to get to experience something that will only last for a moment? Because we feel the music, and we want to feel it in person.
And when New Politics played at the House of Blues San Diego last Saturday… trust me…
I FELT IT.
New Politics are a band that I had been waiting for quite a few years to see live, and the wait was certainly worth it. The energy they brought to the stage was incredible, and was through the roof from start to finish.
It was also impossible to not jump (yes, jump, even though that broken foot of mine is still recovering!) and sing along, especially during “One Of Us”, “Harlem”, and “Everywhere I Go (Kings and Queens)”.
And sure, I might have been sore and dehydrated afterwards. I woke up the next morning with a terrible sore throat because I forgot to bundle up properly. But you know what?
It was all worth it in the end. And it always will be.
