Melanie Penn is a singer/songwriter currently based in Manhattan. Today, we’re getting a first look at the lively new lyric video for her powerful track “I Will Trust”!
Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Falls Church, VA, Melanie began singing and receiving formal vocal training at a young age. She studied classical voice, and moved to NYC to pursue musical theater.
After spending years in the theater scene and being a part of a national Broadway touring company for “Grease”, Melanie began to shift her attention towards songwriting and becoming a solo artist. She began to collaborate with producer Ben Shive and has released four albums. A fifth album is due this year!
“I Will Trust is a song about not knowing which way to go in life, but trusting that a guiding hand steers you in the right direction even if you don’t feel it,” says Melanie. “For this video we played around with natural light and man-made light as a metaphor for different ways we try to light our path. Ultimately natural light works much better don’t you think?”
