Dua Lipa Came To Save Pop With ‘Future Nostalgia’

LISTEN… I’M NOT TRYING TO START AN ARGUMENT OR ANYTHING BUT….

Dua Lipa just dropped her sophomore album Future Nostalgia. The LP arrived earlier than originally planned, and not a single person complained.

Of course, Future Nostalgia features the global hit single “Don’t Start Now”, “Physical”, and “Break My Heart”, which got a music video release earlier this week! Here’s the thing though… there’s 11 tracks on Future Nostalgia, and NONE of them are skip-worthy.

From start to finish, Future Nostalgia is tons of fun. Filled to the brim with funky disco soundscapes, the album sends a message to the world that even in the bleakest of times, we can still find joy.

It feels like these days, electrifying pop songs like these are very hard to find. Music has it’s trends, and we’ve definitely seen a shift towards (the polar opposite) within the past few years. There’s nothing wrong with “chill indie vibes”, the melancholic wave, or anything “soft” that makes us immediately envision the artist in their bedroom decorated with fairy lights and polaroids playing their acoustic guitar. But I love my loud, crazy bops. I need them right now more than ever. The pop landscape has been quite deprived of them, and there’s no denying it.

And well… it’s safe to say Dua Lipa saved the day.
