YVR are an LA-based musical duo, consisting of Courtney and Stephen Stahl!
Named after the Vancouver airport code, YVR are accomplished songwriters who have been published by SONY/ATV.
During the early days of their musical careers, the two took up songwriting as a way to help pay the bills. Soon, they found themselves writing for artists all across the globe. Courtney has written for K-Pop acts such as EXO, Red Velvet, Twice, I.O.I., Amber Liu, and many more. Stephen has worked with artists like Chris Daughtry, Morgan Page, Bella Thorne, Taeyeon, E-Girls, Blasterjaxx, and more. Stephen has also had songs placed in movies such as Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Road Chip, Last Vegas, R.L. Stine’s: Mostly Ghostly, and many other TV shows and commercials.
Courtney and Stephen are a married couple, and have sold over 4 million records and a combined ten number one singles… two of which have reached #1 on the Billboard World Album Charts!
In 2019, YVR released their debut EP Night Days. Stephen produces and arranges all of their music, and Courtney is in charge of writing the lyrics and creating the melodies. The two recently released their new single “Pay”, which highlights the emotional distress one faces when they feel like the person they love just isn’t paying attention to them.
Courtney says, “’Pay’ is a cry for attention. This song about being in a relationship where you feel unheard, misunderstood and unnoticed. It’s about reaching your breaking point of patience.”
YVR’s lyrics can be described as very honest and emotional. However, the two pair these up with very fun, dance-worthy beats that will make you want to keep hitting replay!
