What comes to mind when I think of Sebastian Paul? An artist who lives life without limits!
Sebastian Paul was raised in a military family, where he was forced to move around quite a bit throughout his youth. These experiences brought him a sense of self-reliance, which is reflected through his music.
He says, “Moving like that, you meet every kind of person. It forces you to become well-rounded, and you’re exposed to many more experiences than most people are afforded.”
Sebastian splits his time between Los Angeles and Colorado – claiming no specific city of origin. Keeping up a hard work ethic, he continues to release authentic new music.
While Sebastian had his beginnings in dance music, he decided to shift his focus towards making alt-pop. Last fall, Sebastian released his BOY OH BOY EP, which was all about the experience of growing up. He reflects: “Each track looks to serve as a snapshot into this transitional phase of life, a set of experiences, and lessons. I’m trying to place the listener right in the center of these moments.”
Today, Sebastian dropped his new single “IMPATIENT”! Speaking on the meaning of the song, he says, “The song describes the feeling of loving someone who is unwilling to make changes. The breaking point at which the desire to see them change becomes overshadowed by the desire for personal happiness, ultimately meaning separation. The loose theme for the video is duality. The feeling of being newly free, matched with the heavy weight of leaving.”
