The Hails are an indie pop/rock band from Florida! The group consists of Robbie Kingsley on vocals, Franco Solari on guitar and vocals, Dylan McCue on guitar, Andre Escobar on bass, and Zach Levy on drums.
The Hails formed at the University of Florida, where Zach and Robbie met one another at a dining hall. The band found their unique sound and their mission with the help of longtime producer Matthew Lewin. The Hails’ music dips into different genres – from indie rock to R&B, so you can always expect a diverse sound from the group!
Even during these uncertain times brought on by the COVID-19 outbreak, The Hails are maintaining a positive attitude. Unfortunately the band’s first tour was brought to a halt due to the stay at home orders. However, they launched a series on YouTube called FaceTime sessions, and remain connected with one another and their listeners online! Earlier this month, The Hails released their new single “Situations”, and created a visualizer with fans via Zoom.
“‘Situations’ is about a sense of disillusionment with social pressures and the banality of many day-to-day social interactions,” Dylan says. “It’s brooding lyrics hide under the guise of a sparkly, vibrant instrumental – much like a person trying to force a smile and ‘fake this shit’ at a party. Musically, it draws inspiration from 70s pop and modern indie, with it’s driving guitar harmonies, wistful melodies, and colorful atmosphere.”
