There’s not too many things on this planet that are more satisfying than listening to a song that you can connect with. Something that sounds and feels so real – and singer/songwriter Maja Kristina is ready to give the world that experience through her music!
Maja Kristina was born and raised in Stockholm, a city known for very bold pop music. Her dad was a sought after songwriter, which led Maja to develop her own love for lyrics! When she was 17, she caught the attention of Eddie O Entertainment, and landed a deal under the company’s partnership with Republic Records.
In 2018, Maja released her label debut “No Fake Love“, which has scooped up over 5.5 million streams on Spotify alone! Then, she spent 2019 perfecting her craft, composing on piano and guitar in her home studio in Stockholm. She also released her anthemic single “Idiot“.
“My music is meant to tell a story,” she shares. “It’s almost as if you’re having a conversation with a close friend. Everything I write is like that—no matter if it’s about heartbreak, jealously, love, or anything. I write in the same way I talk. I’m discussing the smallest things in life that you’d only discuss with the people closest to you.”
Now in 2020, Maja Kristina is ready to share more of her stories with the world. Yesterday, she released her new single “The Idea Of Me”.
“It’s about being fed up with someone assuming you’re going to be a certain way when you’re not,” she explains. “The production is playful and balances out the seriousness of the lyrics. I’m sure a lot of people have dealt with a similar situation. There’s a message. If you’re just in love with the idea of me, please fuck off!”
