Recording yourself singing one of your favorite songs in one take sounds much more easier said than done, right? Well, Stray Kids just did it – and they nailed it!
“THE FIRST TAKE” is a YouTube channel dedicated to filming performances by different artists in one take. All videos are posted in ultra high quality, and the channel has over 1.31 million subscribers. The 43rd episode features a very special performance by Stray Kids, as they perform the Japanese version of “SLUMP” in just one take.
Stray Kids made their Japanese debut in March, launching their album SKZ2020. The guys recorded this very special comeback episode of “THE FIRST TAKE” remotely in Korea, which was a first for the series.
For those who may not be familiar, Stray Kids are an eight member boy band formed by JYP Entertainment in 2017 through a survival show with the same name. Members Bang Chan, Lee Know, Felix, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, I.N., and Seungmin have been capturing the eyes and ears of millions worldwide due to their undeniable talent. Just last week, Stray Kids released their first full length album Go Live, which also features the Korean version of “SLUMP”.
“We’re very honored to have been selected to perform on the comeback special,” shares Bang Chan. “I was initially a little nervous when I heard we were to be filmed singing live in one take from start to finish but I really started to enjoy myself as I got into the song. I feel as though this new experience has helped us take another positive step forward. It’s also made us want to work harder than ever at our art and we hope to show our strengths to a great number of people in the future to come. We hope our live performance video on THE FIRST TAKE will give people encouragement and the motivation to uplift themselves.”
