Irish indie rock quartet The Academic are sharing their new EP Acting My Age with the world today… and it’s a joy!
Acting My Age was produced by Kaiser Chief’s Nick Hodgson, and marks the band’s debut release with Capitol Records! The EP welcomes listeners into the band’s world, as they take their music worldwide. Back home in Ireland, The Academic have a number one album under their belt, and have sold out tons of shows in the UK. They’ve even been selected by Mick Jagger himself to open up for The Rolling Stones in Dublin!
During quarantine, The Academic have stayed busy by writing songs via email, performing on IG live, having zoom parties with fans, and just having some time to themselves. Ahead of the EP’s release, The Academic shared a homemade music video for “Anything Could Happen.” Check it out here.
The Academic released their debut album Tales from the Backseat in 2018, and it went straight to number 1 on the Irish Album Chart! When creating Acting My Age, the band realized that patience is key, as well as allowing things to just come naturally. The final result is six wonderful tracks that will make you jump around and leave you feeling satisfied!
