SLØNE is a Miami-based pop trio bringing the heat this summer with their debut single “12 Hours,” and that’s why they’re this week’s fresh squeeze artist!
Vocalist Ricki Denim, guitarist Eric Stewart, and bassist/beat maker John Tomasso all brought their own musical influences together for SLØNE. Eric and John played together in the ambient rock band Makari. Ricki wrote hooks for a hip hop collective, and was the front woman of an experimental indie rock band. These musical backgrounds helped shape a project that is mainly pop driven, but will have sprinkles of rock, hip hop, and r&b influences.
SLØNE’s debut single “12 Hours” arrived on Friday, and speaks of an agonizing period in Ricki’s life.
Ricki says, “The song could be about a person you messed up with or disappointment in an aspect of your own character. The mourning of a better part of yourself. I leave that up to the listener to decide.”
