This summer might feel like a huge bummer, but it’s important that we all try to make the most of it while staying safe. Whether it be Zoom happy hours, watching live stream festivals, or partaking in socially distanced outdoor activities, there’s plenty that we can do to have fun during these days!
Tove Lo has definitely been living her best life while social distancing. She just released a cool music video for “Mateo,” which was filmed while in quarantine. Almost 1,000 of Tove’s fans from all over the world were featured in the fun karaoke video!

Tove said, “Since ‘Sunshine Kitty’ was released, ‘Mateo’ has been a fan favorite. I always knew I wanted to do a visual for it. We had shot footage for the lyric video at a beautiful venue in Manchester called Albert Hall in early March, right before we had to cancel the European shows and fly home due to COVID. So much of the last few months has been about what can’t happen, doing the quarantine karaoke challenge was a way to still connect with my fans and give everyone something to safely do while locked down. I was so overwhelmed by all the submissions, there were just about 1000 and everyone was so fun and creative with it. I wish the song could be 10 times longer so we could have fit all in!”
On Monday, Tove Lo performed an at-home version of “sadder badder cooler” for CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert‘s #PLAYATHOME series.
Tove Lo also recently did a DJ set on Animal Crossing! This was the very first “Live Virtual Party” in the game, and she got to interact with some lucky fans via her own avatar on YouTube influencer Ninentalk‘s island.
She shared, “It was so cool to be part of the first show in Animal Crossing! I got real hooked on this game while in quarantine, the world is so charming and magical. And while being starved of interaction with my fans and show jitters this was such a great thing to do! I’m so impressed and grateful to Nintentalk for helping make this happen! And my fans made the coolest outfits and an awesome stage!“
