The world might seem like it’s in a super chaotic state right now, but there’s still plenty of good happening all around us. It is so important to take a step back every now and then and try to find peace in the moment, and Anthony Ramos’ new single “Stop” encourages us to do exactly that!
“Stop came from my inability to do just that,” he shared. “It’s a song about stopping, breathing, being present in whatever moment you’re in and finding the beauty in it.”
The music video for “Stop” is just as remarkable as the song! Directed by Blythe Thomas, the clip showcases Brooklyn artist and stylist Anthony Payne in action. In the smack middle of the pandemic, he lost his job at a hair salon – but that did not stop him from putting his talents in motion! After the murder of George Floyd, Anthony Payne began offering haircuts in the streets of Brooklyn. Proceeds from the haircuts were donated to Black Lives Matter.
Anthony Ramos also recently teamed up with storybooth to produce an animated tribute to Black Lives Matter called “Black Lives Matter. Period.”
The Hamilton cast member released his debut album The Good & The Bad last year, and it debuted in the Top 10 of iTunes’ Pop Albums Chart! He is currently featured as the voice of King Trollex in “Trolls World Tour,” and next year he will star in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s film adaptation of “In The Heights.” We truly can’t wait to see it!
