Sooo… you know the saying, the third time is a charm? Well, Dava’s third single of the year, “Papercut,” IS a charm!
Dava shared of her new song, “I’ve realized that no family, friendship or relationship is perfect. When trust is broken it’s very hard to mend, and those wrongdoings may seem unforgivable. With time though, most situations reveal themselves to be minor papercuts. We can allow ourselves to move on, we can heal from these things. Although the song itself has a dark connotation, it brought a lot of clarity and forgiveness to the relationship that inspired the song.“
“Papercut” is one of those songs that can help mend a wound if you let it. Check it out!
Dava grew up between Texas and Oklahoma, and spent a large portion of her life being raised by her grandma after her mom passed away when she was eight. Using a guitar her mom had given her as a gift, Dava taught herself how to write her own songs. It was her escape from it all, and when Dava was eighteen, she moved to Colorado and pursued some local musical opportunities. After releasing some songs on Soundcloud, Dava built up a dedicated following. Now based in Los Angeles (and with an EP on the way!) Dava is living her best artistic life.
