The Fresh Squeeze is back with this week’s brand new artist, Yuki Dreams Again!

Samuel Bocan-Biddle, aka Yuki Dreams Again, spent the first years of his music career writing for others. Notably, he landed a song placement with Carnage on his Battered Bruised & Bloody album. But after a while, the 22 year-old decided it was time to do his own thing! He adopted the stage name Yuki Dreams Again, and started to craft his own tunes for himself.

Yuki Dreams Again’s debut single “Endlessly” arrived not too long ago, and was written at a very special moment in his life. There were a lot of changes going on, and he decided to pack his bags and head to his great grandmother’s cabin. He found an old guitar, and decided to pick it up although he didn’t know how to play just yet. The few chords that came out ended up becoming the main sample for the song.

“‘Endlessly’ is about our quest as humans in finding where we belong and what will fuel us on our journey,” YDA says. “As Earth spins continuously and time doesn’t stop, Love is what most of us find comfort in.”

Now, give this catchy alt-pop tune a listen below!

RAPID FIRE QUESTIONS

What inspired you to get your start in music?

I was in high-school at the time and we needed royalty free music for a project. Instead of using something from the internet, I decided to compose it myself. It felt right so I never stopped from there.

Who are some fellow musicians that you look up to?

Frank Ocean, Kanye, SOPHIE, Jay-Z, Billie Eilish, Yung Lean just to name a few.

How does writing and producing for others compare to doing it all for yourself?

It’s very different. When I write or produce for myself, most of the time I’m alone in a room, until I’m not and suddenly, it feels like someone is doing the music for me. I treat it like a meditation. While when I write or produce for someone else, it’s more  like interviewing someone. You ask questions and hope for good answers to build with.

What are some of the biggest things you hope to accomplish as a solo artist?

I don’t really have anything too precise in my mind. The main goal would be to execute the vision I have as best as I can and work with people I have fun working with. Keep a balance too, grow as a human as much as I grow as an artist.
