Part of the human experience includes looking back at how far you’ve come as a person – and looking forward to what you have yet to achieve! So much can change in so little time, and Devin Kennedy reflects upon all of it in his latest single “Gummy Worms.”
“Gummy Worms” is a song that outlines many of the major life moments that helped shape Devin into the young adult he is today. He says, “I spent 18-22 trying to figure out who I was and what I really wanted. A lot changed for me during that time. I finished college, fell in love, moved out of my childhood home and started making music full time. No matter how different and unfamiliar adult life feels, the things I learned and the memories I made growing up will always define me. That’s what I wrote Gummy Worms about.”
Today, you’re getting a sweet first look at Devin’s “Gummy Worms” music video! As you’d guess, the video takes viewers on a virtual stroll down memory lane with Devin. You’ll get to see many places throughout Southern California where some of Devin’s most memorable life events took place.
Devin took a moment to point out some of his favorite memories mentioned in the video that helped carve him into the artist he is today! He says, “The video mentions my first show ever, which was super inspiring for me in middle school. I pretty much walked off the stage that day knowing that I wanted to do music forever. Other specific experiences include studying music in college, which taught me how to produce on my own, and spending some time touring with other artists while in college and learning from how real artists operate their businesses.”
But, if Devin’s younger self could meet present day Devin, he might be a little surprised. Devin admitted, “My younger self wasn’t necessarily a fan of pop music, so he’d probably think I’m a poser – and I am, so it’s all good.”

“The song is super nostalgic. I wrote it about being 18-22 and living in my hometown, so it felt right to show everyone where I grew up. I have so many great stories and memories from that time, and I wanted to share some of my favorites in the new video.” – Devin Kennedy
