This week, it’s all eyes on Golden Aquarians and their debut single “High Enough”!
Golden Aquarians is a NYC-based production duo made up of Sarah Jaffe and Roberto Sanchez. The two were born in Texas, and were on their own musical adventures before banding together.
Sarah Jaffe has performed all across the United States and Europe – sharing stages with the likes of Noah Jones, Patty Griffin, Erykah Badu, Metric, Chelsea Wolfe, Cyndi Lauper, and more. Sarah has also lent her voice to the Disney Pixar short The Blue Umbrella, as well as the Occulus virtual reality short Dear Angelica.
Roberto Sanchez is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. He has played and/or recorded with his share of artists, and has founded his own music licensing and production collective Static West Music. He has sync’d his and other’s music across a wide variety of global ad campaigns and television productions.
Recently, the powerhouse duo released their first single “High Enough,” a song about simply wanting to escape it all. An adorable animated video for the track was created by Dani Okon, and it features Sarah and Roberto as 32-bit characters in an exciting video game adventure!
“‘High Enough’ speaks to the desire to break out of all of it,” Golden Aquarians shared. “We will continue using our own voices as loud as we want to fight for justice and humanity. We will continue to fight against racism in all its heinous forms. And until the spread of this virus ceases, we will continue wearing our fucking masks so WE CAN see the other side.”
