Creating an EP when your bandmates are all in different locations may not seem like an easy feat, but Wallows rose up to the challenge and made it work!
Today, Wallows released their new EP Remote, which (as the name implies) was created remotely due to the pandemic. While things may not always go as planned, sometimes all it takes is a little improvisation.
The band says, “‘Remote’ is a special project for us. We finished it all without seeing each other in person by sending each other voice memos and spending hours chatting on FaceTime. Though the lyrics don’t reflect on or reference our time staying at home, the music wouldn’t have turned out the way it did if not for quarantine. Big love to our producers and friends Sachi DiSerafino and John DeBold for working around the clock with us. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”
Remote features previously released singles “Nobody Gets Me (Like You)” and “Virtual Aerobics.” To celebrate the EP’s release, Wallows will be hosting tons of virtual activities, such as a Zoom listening party, a Twitter Q&A on Monday (October 26) a Reddit AMA on Thursday (October 29) and more!
Wallows also wants to make sure you’re registered to vote. On October 30, the band will be airing a special performance of “OK” as part of Rolling Stone’s Fridays For Unity. The series encourages voter engagement, and brings together some of the nation’s greatest entertainers and political figures. Tune in at 8PM EST on Rolling Stone’s YouTube channel!
