It’s TXT time, for real! Yesterday, Tomorrow X Together unveiled their new EP minisode1 : Blue Hour. The mini album gives listeners sixteen minutes of pure bliss – the same kind you probably would feel if you’re watching a sunset.
It’s been a few months since TXT released their previous EP, The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY. We’re still in the middle of what is surely a very confusing and tiresome time, and the songs on Blue Hour capture the feelings that have run high during this season of uncertainty. But above everything else, Blue Hour is a gift from TXT to their fans that will hopefully deliver some much needed comfort and optimism!
The EP kicks off with “Ghosting,” an upbeat pop-rock track about feeling isolated. Having communication get cut off with someone you care about can be an emotional strain. (Of course, you didn’t need me to say this, because everyone’s beeen knew.) As you’ve been ghosted, you yourself may begin to feel like a ghost to that special person or people. Taehyun and Soobin helped write the song, and although the lyrics may cause some tears to be shed, you’ll likely shake them off! Sonically, “Ghosting” introduces us to a side of TXT that we haven’t really seen before… and I’m here for it. You gotta love the alt-rock vibes!
Now It’s ~Really~ Blue Hour!
The EP continues with the title track, which is bound to raise everyone’s serotonin levels! “Blue Hour” is full of funky, disco-inspired beats that create a very magical feeling. In the music video for the track, TXT bring this magic to life with vibrant imagery. Just take me to wherever they’re at, and leave me there forever!
In the band’s countdown live, Yeonjun described “Blue Hour” as a song that “expresses the complex emotions of boys who feel both familiar and unfamiliar emotions about the world and the friends around them, while looking at the beautiful October sky at 5:53pm as the sun is setting.”
Next comes “We Lost The Summer,” which gives us a story we can all relate to in a way. COVID-19 has put many of our plans on hold, whether it be short term or long term. It can create a sense of your youth slipping away, and like a chapter of your life has been removed from you. We may have not been able to run free this past summer, which is certainly a bummer. However, with its tropical-infused beats, “We Lost The Summer” will get us up and dancing – hopefully encouraging listeners to create their own memories.
The guys bring back the bursting pop-rock beats on “Wishlist,” a song where they just want to know your birthday wishes. So, what’ll it be? A new phone? A designer purse? Or maybe, for all of this madness in the world to finally come to an end? Whatever it may be, just let them know.
The EP wraps up with “Way Home,” a song about sticking together no matter what. Although the roads you may have gone down may become a little blurry, you will never fully travel on them alone.
The Next Episode?
Blue Hour serves as a transition between “The Dream Chapter” and what lies ahead. Seriously though, what’s next? While no one can fully answer that question, one thing is for sure. minisode1 : Blue Hour is here to guide the way! Check it out below.
You’re the one that I want <3
My favorite song is between Ghosting and Wishlist. I can’t choose which one I like more but I do love all the songs
