There’s many things we could probably say we could use right about now to find some comfort in. A soft blanket to cuddle with. A massage. A drink. The list goes on and on.
Now, how about some chill lo-fi vibes from Artemis Orion? The LA-based producer/singer-songwriter’s latest single “you are your own home” is a dreamy escape from reality, and one that we can all enjoy!
Artemis Orion was born in the suburbs of Los Angeles, and fell in love with art and singing at the age of four. A large chunk of her childhood and teen years were spent living in rural Mississippi, and fed her passion for the arts both in and out of school. Whether it was by writing songs, composing, performing in local talent shows, producing, acting, filmmaking, or even studying literature – Artemis did it all.
In 2017, Artemis relocated to the outskirts of Nashville, and seized opportunities to perform at open mics and writers rounds. Two years later, Artemis released her first lo-fi hip-hop collaborations “we said goodbye for the last time”, “I’m Tired,” and her first self-produced single “Venus.”
“you are your own home” is just one of many songs Artemis has released this year, and there’s more on the way! She says, “I wrote this song on a day I was feeling a bit down, discouraged and far from myself. I made it as a pick me up for myself and express positivity out of the negative emotions I had; I felt better afterwards. This song is about self-love, pursuit of happiness, and optimism.”
