Serena Isioma (pronouns: she/they | gender: gnc) is a 20-year-old musician based in Chicago. Although it’s a little unfair to try to fit Serena’s style into a descriptive box, your ears can surely expect to be met with a cocktail of chill lo-fi pop, hip-hop, and R&B beats as soon as you press play on her music.

Serena made her debut in 2019 with “Do I Make You Nervous,” and released her first EP Sensitive earlier this year. Now gearing up to release her new project The Leo Sun Sets, Serena is sharing a new masterpiece titled “Stop Calling The Police On Me.”

“‘Stop Calling The Police On Me’ is about searching for peace outside of the society that doesn’t understand you,” Serena says. “There was a heavy police presence in my household growing up. It was very toxic. Eventually, I stopped coming home altogether. I was much happier hanging out with my friends.
