It’s always great getting new music from (G)I-DLE. This time in particular, things are sizzling even more. The girls just dropped their new mini album I burn, which is the fourth installment of their “I” series!
Last spring, (G)I-DLE released I Trust, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart. The EP was spearheaded “Oh My God,” an earworm that became a K-Pop staple for 2020. The music video for the track also earned a nomination for Best K-Pop Video at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards. Needless to say, it was an exciting era.
The excitement continues in 2021 with I burn. The EP reveals a story of conflicting emotions felt after a breakup, and the process of picking yourself back up and finding happiness once again.
The title track “HWAA” captures the cold sensation one may face after being left alone. But as we all know, that cold can turn into a flame very quickly. The heart wants what it wants, and over time, a burning passion to obtain the best for yourself will develop.
The passion packed into each of these songs is so satisfying. I’m sure you’ll feel it too, so stream I burn below!
