Although time is moving along, the world around many of us might still not feel like the “comfort zone” we were accustomed to. The current reality can still seem overwhelming, but Irish pop-rockers Picture This are back today to give us some much needed comfort and reassurance with their new single “Things Are Different.”

When you look back at Picture This’ story, I guess you could say things became different very quickly… in a good way, of course. It all started when frontman Ryan Hennessy uploaded a demo of “Take My Hand” on Facebook and YouTube. The video has been now seen by over 4 million people, and led the band to have their debut gig in Dublin. The show sold out in under 30 minutes, and even after a venue change to accommodate the demand, the show was still sold out!

Each show Picture This played got bigger and bigger, and in 2017 they released their debut self-titled album. It went triple-platinum on their home turf, topped Ireland’s Overall Chart for four weeks, and topped the Streaming Chart for seven weeks. Their follow up project, MDRN LV, was released in 2019, and was celebrated with a performance on top of New York’s Empire State Building.

Although turmoil might be taking center stage all around, there’s still beauty to be found and experienced. Picture This wanted to write a love song to our planet, and “Things Are Different” may have never even came to life had it not been for the current state of the world! Ryan Hennessy says, “Normally I write love songs about people who have been in my life and who I have been in relationships with and this too is a love song. However, this time it is a love song to the world.”

Ryan continues by saying, “A lot of things are different in the world we live in right now but what will never change no matter what the circumstances are our morals, our passions, our beliefs and who we are as people. We now as a civilisation have to pick up where we left off and step into a new world with love and compassion in our hearts, both for ourselves and for those around us.”
