Living life in the fast lane can be fun, and Matt Thompson wants to pick up the pace of your day with his new single “Accelerate”!
Matt Thompson recorded his first demo when he was eighteen, and started to write songs for other artists prior to heading out on his own solo venture. His first single “Wish You the Best (Wish You the Worst)” was released in 2019, and has been streamed over 1.5 million streams on Spotify. His follow up single “No Shame” also surpassed 1 million streams, and his debut album of the same title has amassed over 3 million streams to date. Recently, Matt was nominated for four Washington Area Music Awards (WAMMIES), and he’s gearing up for a great 2021.
According to Matt, “Accelerate” is all about that feeling of wanting to speed things up when you first meet someone. Hey – it can be hard to contain that excitement!
“This song is about when you first start talking to someone and things are new and delicate,” he says, “and I’m impatient and want things to just take off. I fall in love too fast and have to deal with all of the repercussions of going from zero to hundred. I’m always telling myself to be patient and take things slow, and then I end up not.”
