Tubbs Tarbell is a very busy man, but he always knows the perfect song to satisfy your needs. Today, he wants you to check out Lord Huron’s new single “Not Dead Yet”!
(And so do I.)
“Not Dead Yet” is a brilliant song full of 50’s feels, and the perfect treat after last night’s episode of Alive From Whispering Pines. The monthly livestream extravaganza from Lord Huron was once again curated by Mr. Tubbs Tarbell – and you! On the first episode, Tubbs Tarbell left a phone number for viewers to call and leave song requests for episode two. Although he was flooded with calls last night, he promised to listen to them all.
Lord Huron kicked off the program with a rendition of “Louisa” that would have been simply perfect to listen to while at the beach. It left Tubbs Tarbell in a dream-like state, picturing himself on a tropical island. Once he woke up, requests continued to be fulfilled. Dreamy renditions of “Wait By The River,” “Ancient Names (Part 1),” and more fan favorites followed.
One of the standout moments of the night was when viewers were serenaded with a truly emotional rendition of “Frozen Pines.” A handful of voicemails were aired prior to the performance, with callers expressing just how personal the song is for them. Stories of loved ones being missed were shared, proceeded by a moment of musical healing.
Those who made the virtual trek to Whispering Pines last night will know that it was an unforgettable journey. If you missed out, your next two opportunities to join Lord Huron and Tubbs Tarbell will be on March 18 and April 15. Get your tickets at noonchorus.com/lord-huron.
After the episode concluded last night, it was easy to feel like a kid in a candy store – happy, and wanting more of that goodness! As speculations of what could be next continue to swirl, “Not Dead Yet” is here to hold us down for a bit. Tubbs Tarbell said, “On “Not Dead Yet”, the boys channel the spirits of Whispering Pines for 3 minutes of rip roarin’ euphony. Dang!”
Lord Huron will also be performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! next Tuesday, February 23. Be sure to tune in!
