Peach PRC always knew she wanted to be a star, so she made it happen. Today she’s making her major label debut with her new single “Josh,” and it’s a worldwide party! The best part is, you’re invited.
As a kid growing up in Adelaide, Peach PRC really wanted to sing. She begged her parents to let her audition for Australia’s Got Talent, but they felt as though she wasn’t emotionally prepared for what the experience could yield. Peach PRC continued to write songs on her own, and attended a talent school to polish her vocals. (And of course, sprinkle a little glitter on them too!)
For quite a while, feelings of isolation crept up on Peach PRC. With not too many friends around, music was something she knew she could turn to for an escape. Songwriting was a way for her to vent, and express anything and everything on her mind. Peach PRC ended up dropping out of school, and would write music in between temporarily working as a stripper. She joined Tik Tok in 2019 under the name Peach PRC – a tribute to her dance name “Peach Porcelain,” and ultimately, Princess Peach from Super Mario. Peach PRC grew a devoted audience by uploading a variety of content, including music.
There’s a well known patten these days: viral snippets lead to viral singles. Peach PRC’s first single “Blondes” was first introduced as a Tik Tok clip, and the full version went on to receive over 4 million streams on Spotify. Her follow-up single “Colourblind” also quickly surpassed 1.5 million streams on the platform. With the release of “Josh,” Peach PRC is unlocking a new level in her career.
“I’ve been wanting to put out this song forever,”she exclaims. “It’s very special to me, because it captured a real moment. I was a bit down when I was writing one day. My ex, Josh, kept calling me over and over again. He called all of the time, because he was trying to get back with me. I thought I had blocked him though. Since he didn’t stop bothering me, I wrote the song about him. It’s a true story, but it’s still meant to be fun and colorful.”
We’ve all heard the saying “out of sight, out of mind.” Sometimes it’s just not possible, and “Josh” is an anthem for anyone who knows the feeling. She spilled, “I made a bit of the song and posted it on my Tik Tok spam account with the caption, ‘I’ll probably delete this’. Everyone told me not to delete it! I’m glad I kept it.”
Whenever you tune into Peach PRC’s music, know that you can consider it your BFF who will be there for you whenever and wherever! Her music reflects exactly what she’d tell a friend, but she doesn’t stop there. Peach PRC is also very open about her own mental health journey, reminding her audience that they’re not alone. She says, “I just want everybody to feel heard. To me, there’s nothing better than when somebody puts how you feel into words.”
Just don’t be a “Josh.”
