Today is our lucky day!
Weeekly is back with their new mini album We play, and these girls are ready to have some fun. But first, be sure to finish your homework! (I am looking right at you…)
Spending time with friends is something many of us might have not done in quite a while. As a teen, it’s something that we naturally wanted to do all the time. That free-spirited energy has been captured into the EP’s title track “After School.” It’s a playful pop song laced with trap beats, bearing a theme of just having a good time after class!
We play is a collection of stories about teens looking to add meaning to their daily lives. Wether it was creating memories with those they value, or celebrating personal accomplishments, this EP was Weeekly’s opportunity to shed light on some of the things that kept them going throughout the pandemic!
Member Jiyoon helped write and compose “Lucky,” which came from a place of self-reflection. It’s about the evolution of a relationship, and is a song you can totally shout to yourself.
It’s been six months since Weeekly released their previous EP, We Can. Much has happened since then, including the girls amassing a total of six rookie awards on Korean award shows! Weeekly hopes their new EP will show some of their growth, and serve as a link to a wider array of concepts in the future.
