Rose Betts is a musical force to be reckoned with. The singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from London introducer her music to the world in 2016 with her debut single “Orange Trees.” In that moment, she was able to make a name for herself as an artist capable of gently tugging one’s heart strings through her emotive lyrics. She self-released her first EP The Stars Look Down later that year, and toured the UK throughout 2017.

Rose has received tons of support from BBC 2 and BBC 6, as well as Sofar Sounds. She loves collaborating with art, film, theatre, and virtual technology, and has been up to many more musical projects as well. One of them was working on Bazzi’s single “Young and Alive,” which was nominated for a Grammy this year!

With that being said, one can easily assume her contribution to Zack Snyder’s Justice League (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) just came naturally. The film is out now on HBO Max, and has a runtime of a little over 4 hours. A movie of such epic proportions deserves a score sharing the same qualities, doesn’t it? Grammy-nominated multi-platinum producer, musician, composer, and educator Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) was responsible for scoring the film. For years, Tom worked closely with Zack Snyder to bring his musical visions for the film to life. It was a deeply personal project, and has been quite a ride for Tom.

“Scoring Zack Snyder’s Justice League has been a project like no other in my career,” Tom says. “It’s a four-and-a- half-hour movie. I wrote so much music! The score is, at times, fully electronic, and at other times fully orchestral. It included many global elements, rock and even trap. And it was all written during Covid, so it was an incredibly hands on, isolated and intense experience; and I think that comes out in the score. This project demanded so much on so many levels, and all of us involved owed it to the fans and Zack to give it everything we had.”

The soundtrack opens up with Rose Betts’ performance of “Song To The Siren.” Head out on your own musical journey by listening below!
