Dear Checkmate, today is all about you. Literally… “YOU.”
Having made their debut in September 2020 with “DRUM,” Checkmate and their steady growing fanbase have been eagerly awaiting a comeback. The name “Checkmate” is a sign of victory in chess, but also represents the sense of victory members Sieun, Suri, Yongseok and Noah hope to experience while expressing themselves through their music. The quartet also takes pride in being a co-ed group, which isn’t a very common sight in the K-Pop world!
About six months after their debut, Checkmate is back with their second single “YOU.” The song highlights each members individuality and charm, and has a beat that sizzles like a hot summer sun. What more could you ask for here?
