As Dayglow continues to gear up for the release of his new album Harmony House on May 21, he’s taking some time to reflect upon the impact the world around him has left on him. He’s human, as we all are, but his new single “Woah Man” really puts everything into perspective.
Out of all the songs Dayglow has written so far, “Woah Man” happens to be his favorite. It’s all about rolling with the changes, which is a theme that will also be heavily reflected in his upcoming album. At first, the intention was to write “Woah Man” for a friend facing difficult times. He soon came to realize that he was actually writing it about himself!
“In the middle of so much change, growth, and responsibility, I found myself feeling a lot of pressure, Dayglow admitted. “After months of feeling like I had the world on my shoulders and that I was growing up too fast, I realized that in order to grow, you have to move on sometimes. You have to let some things go. And for me, what I needed to let go of was the feeling of being in control of everything. I had to let go of holding on (very meta, I know). I just remember finishing the song and feeling so much relief and clarity about who I am becoming. The song has continued to help me through so many different stages of growth in my life— I hope it does the same for you.”
It’s been an exciting few months for Dayglow, aka Sloan Struble. The 21-year-old DIY artist kicked off 2021 by releasing “Close To You,” which has now surpassed the 20 million streams mark. He’s also been set to play on the upcoming season of Austin City Limits, which will be his second television performance this year. Pretty exciting, wouldn’t you say?
