If you wanted my two cents on OSTON’s new single, you just got it. I’ll gladly offer you some more though, because sharing is caring… right? *insert angel emoji here*
While spending a day in the studio with long-time collaborator Drew Polovick, the two couldn’t help but think about those people who seem to make everything about them. You know, the people who seem to have overstayed their welcome at a gathering, even though they may have only been there for five minutes. Together, they came up with a fun song to essentially offer a musical swerve to such people!
As OSTON puts it, “You know that one person that shows up to the party and starts talking about themself, making everyone feel bad, and ultimately having everyone wish they’d just stayed at home? Yeah, this song is about that person.”
“I Think You Should Leave” can be dedicated to just about anyone who can quickly turn into a nuisance. “This could also be the guy at the bar who decides that since he hits on you, you should be so lucky enough to follow him home and spend the night however he’d like you to,” OSTON adds. “The moral of the story for this guy is – and always will be – sorry dude, just don’t be a dick :).”
Contrary to its name, “I Think You Should Leave” won’t be leaving your mind after giving it a listen. OSTON’s previous single “Lie About You” is still lingering in many minds too, especially after having received over a million combined streams in its first month.
With her sophomore EP AM I TALKING TOO MUCH? rapidly approaching, be sure to leave some room for OSTON on your playlists! Listen to “I Think You Should Leave” below.
