There’s nothing like jamming out to a great song with your friends, and today would be a great day to come together to enjoy Jack Newsome’s spicy new single “Friends”!
If Jack Newsome can add a little flavor to your day, then you might as well as get ready to devour the rest of his catalog. Jack grew up in Rumson, New Jersey, just a few houses down from where Bruce Springsteen lived. An early interest in music was a given, as he idolized The Boss and other icons such as Lady Gaga, Prince, Michael Jackson, and Justin Timberlake. Jack enjoyed taking theater classes and being able to entertain his family at home. But it was only a matter of time until Jack decided he wanted to show the world exactly what he can do!
As a teen, Jack made music in his makeshift studio at home. He’d also frequently attend auditions in New York City, further fueling his ambition to be a star. Jack went on to study Music and Production at Berklee College of Music, and at 21, he packed his bags and moved to LA. He felt as though a change in scenery would benefit him greatly, and he just wanted to follow the beat of his own drum.
While continuing to study online, Jack was able to create a handful of songs – his way, of course. These songs landed Jack a spot on NBC’s Songland, where he went on to record “Lying (Next To You)” with Shane McAnally. He kicked off his 2021 by releasing “The Year The World Stood Still,” a song reflecting upon how far we’ve come over the past year.
Although “Friends” was written before the pandemic, it’s quite fitting that such a fun song would arrive as the world starts to get moving again. “‘Friends’ came about because when I go into relationships, I go into long relationships,” Jack mentioned. “So I wanted to just image being a free spirit and having these potential friends with benefits.”
Good friends tell their friends to go listen to good music, so check out “Friends” below!
