Whether you’re a good swimmer or not, prepare to dive into what will surely be one of the coolest dance songs of the summer!
Swedish dance-pop producer Discrete had a stacked 2020. He released his debut EP EXPLORE, along with a handful of blissful singles such as “In My Heart.” Now, Discrete is ready to get the whole world dancing again with his new single “Drown in Me.” Since it’s a global affair, he invited Canadian pop maestro Kiesza, Icelandic singer/songwriter Ouse, and Colombian artist/actor Dylan Fuentes to join in on the fun!
“Drown in Me” touches on some of the struggles and strange feelings one may experience while falling in love. Although the song was written in 2019, it all came together in the midst of the strangeness the past year has brought on. Perhaps it was meant to be – Discrete says, “This record wouldn’t have turned out the way it did if it wasn’t for the lockdowns across the world. I’ve never met Ouse, Dylan, or Kiesza in person. They all contributed to the song remotely from their part of the world, and I think that uniqueness gives the song a special global feel. Although lockdowns put a stop to many things in our lives, they’ve also proven that passion for music will never die.”
It’s so hard to resist listening to a song like “Drown In Me” over and over again. It’s also hard to resist going to Walmart and buying myself an inflatable pool for my backyard so I can tell others that I’m listening to this song as I chill by the pool. Maybe it’ll happen. Maybe.
Anyways, check out “Drown In Me” below!
