Everyone is always striving to reach the next level in whatever they do, but aespa has already reached that point! After releasing their heart-melting ballad “Forever” back in February, aespa is switching up the script and showing off their daring sides with “Next Level.”
While the track is a remake of A$ton Wyld’s song of the same title from the Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw soundtrack, aespa truly made this one their own. If I can’t use the words “containing an immense amount of bad bish energy” to describe “Next Level,” I just wouldn’t have words to describe it. Confidence is spray painted over the lyrics, and the girls’ charisma serves as a glossy finish.
Hyping yourself up by listening to aespa’s music is so much fun, but we can’t forget the fact there’s an entire story line unfolding before our eyes! In the SMCU (SM Culture Universe) humans have their own digital existence, or ae. Many are in tune with their ae, but there is a “Black Mamba” who has caused a rift in the connection between humans and their ae. The “Next Level” music video shows the girls on their journey to ‘KWANGYA’ (wilderness) to find the “Black Mamba.”
“Next Level” is leaving me so excited for what’s next from aespa. I can’t help but think about how much potential there is for the story line to become more and more elaborate. The entire concept just makes things a lot more fun! Check out “Next Level” below.
