If you’re passionate about something, why not be as loud as possible about it? Others will hear your echo, and they may just want to check out what you’ve got going on. They’ll certainly want to check out what KSHMR, Eric Nam, and Armaan Malik had going on too! The three artists teamed up to create a new dance anthem titled “Echo,” and it all came together thanks to the power of the Internet.
Right before the pandemic started, Armaan Malik and KSHMR met in Los Angeles and listened to some unreleased music. “Echo” was one of those unreleased songs, and Armaan Malik just couldn’t get enough of it. “It just stuck,” he recalled. Armaan Malik then decided to go ahead and record a demo verse at KSHMR’s studio, but it wasn’t until later in the year when he enlisted Eric Nam for the project.
Armaan said, “Around mid-2020, Eric and I had this little interaction on Twitter that sparked off an internet friendship and our teams got connected as well to discuss a potential collaboration. The track we all gravitated most towards was ‘Echo’ and we spent the next few months making it sound like it does right now.”
Being a part of “Echo” was a very exciting experience for Eric Nam, and he couldn’t be happier to see it finally being released during AAPI Heritage Month! He mentioned, “We’ve been working on this song for some time now and quite honestly, I wasn’t sure if it would ever see the light of day. But, I’m so glad that we get to share this with the world and for us to be able to create this collaborative moment across continents and cultures. I hope our fans and listeners love it as much as we did putting it together!”
