Sometimes it can seem impossible to escape those late night feelings. You know, the ones where your brain ends up thinking about someone on loop. Did you ask for it to happen? Certainly not, but Jex is offering up a new way of dealing with them… by dancing to her new single “2AM”!
Even though Jex grew up in a small farm town in South Jersey, she still managed to have her own taste of being in the spotlight. Her father would often play gigs, and Jex would come along to join him on stage. As she got older, she studied music theory and learned how to compose by listening to artists like Lady Gaga, Sia, and even Foreigner.
Jex went on to study Music Business at Ramapo College, but one day she realized she wasn’t doing exactly what she wanted to be doing. She dropped out, locked herself into her studio at home, and got down to work! Her phenomenal vocals were on the minds of many producers, and Jex made appearances on a handful of EDM tracks.
“2AM” serves as an introduction to Jex’s own solo sound, and it won’t be leaving your mind anytime soon! Feel free to dance all night to this one. Jex says, “I tried to capture the personal experience of not being able to sleep, because you’re thinking about someone. I’m not in love with this person, but at that time of night, it sometimes feels like you are. This person is just on your mind.”
