EVERGLOW didn’t just snap with their new mini album Last Melody. They came and snapped like Thanos – quickly, and without hesitation. Even with an average runtime of about 11 minutes, the girls still managed to show off their versatility in Last Melody. “FIRST” is a fiery trap-pop banger that is bound to get “LA DI DA” enthusiasts up and dancing, no matter what time it is when they’re listening. When you listen to “FIRST” you’ll know that EVERGLOW still don’t have time for haters!
“DON’T ASK DON’T TELL” has such a bright and endearing feel to it. It’s one of those songs that was made for the summer, and is totally capable of creating a fun visual in your head. (Drinking some lemonade by a pool with a giant flamingo floaty in the middle is one of mine.) You also have “PLEASE PLEASE,” a ballad that shows off what EVERGLOW is truly capable of doing vocally. “D+1” is the only other EVERGLOW song that really takes it slow, but it’s good to know the girls can flip the switch at any given time. They can show off a more vulnerable side of themselves, and they can do a great job at it too.
Last Melody is a mini album that should be able to help someone form a pretty good first impression of EVERGLOW. Speaking of firsts, the “FIRST” music video is a visual spectacle of its own. You’re getting intense choreography, an interesting concept, and hopefully you’re getting shook too.
