Mimika Kicks Off A New Chapter With “Rambling”

When you feel like you’ve let someone down, you may start asking yourself if you were even cut out for that person in the first place. Canadian pop singer Mimika found herself in that exact thought process, so she decided to do what she does best… write all those feelings down, and turn them into a song!

Growing up just outside of Toronto, Mimika just couldn’t stop writing poems, stories, and scripts. The music of Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Destiny’s Child, and Celine Dion were constantly being played throughout her home, which inspired her to become a performer. Mimika recently graduated from the Berklee College of Music, and eagerly invites listeners to enjoy what she has in store for them! Last year, Mimika started a mini-mixtape series, with each individual mixtape focusing in on two or three emotions she has felt in her life. She’s now starting a chapter-based narrative, kicking off with her glistening new single “Rambling.”

Mimika spills, “I have this tendency to shoot myself in the foot when it comes to relationships and somehow always find a way to end things before they really begin. ‘Rambling’ explores that in a conversational way. I spend a lot of the song beating around the bush regarding what’s going on in this relationship until I finally just blurt out the truth which is “maybe I wasn’t meant for this, meant for love, I’m scared of ‘us’.” The song is meant to make you self-reflect and look inside as to the real motives behind why we do the things we do.”

A horrible feeling never sounded this good. Check out “Rambling” below, and say hi to Mimika on Instagram @mimika.k!
