Even though the world has felt like its been taking many tumbles, Rêve hasn’t stopped dancing… so why should you?

While working hard to make ends meet, Briannah Donolo (aka Rêve) kept her eyes on the prize. Ever since she was a kid, she dreamed of a day when the world would be able to know just how passionate she is about music. After all, music is what helped her get through some pretty tough times! Whenever Briannah felt like something was weighing her down, she’d turn to her piano and channel all of her emotions into art.

Perhaps one could say that day came back in 2014, when videos of Briannah’s singing the National Anthem at a Montréal Canadiens game went viral. While many people wanted to turn her into a star in the days that followed, Briannah decided to do things her own way. She went back home to Montréal, adopted the moniker Rêve, and started her journey as an artist who is unapologetically true to herself.

Rêve found beauty and inspiration at bars and clubs, which led to her creating a sound that brings dance music and lively pop and R&B melodies together. Although the clubs closed in 2020, Rêve found a way to bring all the special energy she was surrounded with into her own home. She connected with Montréal-based production duo Banx & Ranx, and the three developed an artistic bond that has been flourishing since.

Written alongside Banx & Ranx and fellow collaborator Sara Diamond, Rêve’s new single “Still Dancing” reminds us that the spirit of the dance floor at 1AM can follow us wherever we go. (Yes, even when we’re in sweat pants at home with a tub of ice cream on our lap. Move that thing somewhere else, get up, and move your body!)

Rêve says,“‘Still Dancing’ is a song that was written during a time when misery needed company and couldn’t have any. It is a song dedicated to club kids, but also house music itself and its unique ability to transport us to euphoria even on our darkest days.”

A song as refreshing as “Still Dancing” needs a visual component, so Rêve teamed up with director Adem Boutlidja and producer Anthony Hachez to make it happen! The music video shows Rêve trapped in a glass box, wishing she could be free to party and play wherever she wants. Anthony Hachez says, “I was inspired by the context and the crazy times we’ve been living in over the past few months. People were stuck at home, and the only thing they wanted was being able to escape and enjoy life again. This is what we wanted to translate. That feeling of being trapped in a box and the desire for freedom, for being able to go out and dance the night away.”
