Some collaborations just deserve a sequel or two… or maybe a few more.
Back in 2016, DallasK and Lauv began working together to make some music magic happen. It all started with Lauv’s single “Breathe,” which DallasK co-wrote and co-produced. Four years later, DallasK returned to co-write and co-produce “Sad Forever,” which was featured on Lauv’s debut album ~how i’m feeling~. The two also teamed up again in 2020 for Lauv’s Without You EP.
DallasK is no stranger to collaborating with some of today’s greatest names in music. He’s worked with artists such as Tiësto, Fifth Harmony, Chromeo, KSHMR, and even BTS. But there’s an undeniable bond between the two that keeps coming back together to create new tunes. Once upon a time, DallasK rented out a lake house in Orlando. He invited Lauv and fellow collaborator Michael Pollack over, and the three had created over a dozen songs together. Just a few months later, Lauv’s music started being discovered by a larger audience than ever before, and he ended up on tour with Ed Sheeran and playing shows all around the world.
One of the songs they had created during that time was “Try Again,” and DallasK couldn’t help but revisit the track and put a dance twist to it. Lauv loved the idea, and wasted no time re-recording the vocals. As DallasK says, “Then we finished the record on a trip to Mexico for New Year’s and that’s the version you hear today!”
“Try Again” is the very first dance track that these two had created together, and they couldn’t be more excited for it to finally be out in the world. DallasK said, “It was super fun to create a unique record that encompasses both of our styles and influences.”
Lauv added, “Me and Dally made this song a couple years ago and we came back to it during quarantine and now we ready to put er out into the world :’)”
