Elton John Just Shouted Out BTS And ARMYS In The Most Fabulous Way Possible!

You know how BTS shouted out Sir Elton John in their latest single “Permission To Dance“? Well, the Rocket Man himself just returned the favor!

In “Permission To Dance,” RM sings, “When it all seems like it’s wrong, Just sing along to Elton John, And to that feeling, we’re just getting started.”

That feeling of pure joy was indeed just getting started. “Permission To Dance” instantly sent ARMYs all over the world into a euphoric state when it was released on July 9. The song also topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart on its first week of release, making it BTS’ fifth #1 debut on the chart. It also made them the first act to replace themselves at #1 on the Hot 100 since Drake in 2008.

As for me? Oh, I was jumping, shouting, doing all of the above during the YouTube premiere for the music video. The batteries in my ARMY Bomb were two minutes away from dying, but it was the least of my concerns. “Permission To Dance” is the perfect example of a song meant to give everyone a sense of hope and empowerment during what is still a challenging time in the world. It’s okay to have fun and forget about your worries for a bit, and no one should stop you from doing so. BTS have been proving this to be true all throughout the pandemic, but “Permission To Dance” drove that point home even more.

BTS are all about inclusivity, and “Permission To Dance” is a clean, fun song that was made for anyone and everyone to enjoy. No matter your life experiences, the opportunity to build a connection to this song is there. As humans, we’ve all been moving to the beat of (a) drum since the very beginning. Even if you don’t personally consider yourself a great dancer, sometimes you can’t help but want to get up and groove. There’s nothing wrong with that, fam.

But while my fellow ARMYs have continued to embrace and celebrate the true meaning of the song, Sir Elton John made sure he got in on the celebrations too! This morning, the legend himself tweeted a video of him singing a snippet of “Permission To Dance.” He thanked BTS, and also sent his love to ARMYs!

He literally said, “love to the ARMY.” One of my all-time favorite artists who I’ve been listening to since I was a kid really just did that. Am I surprised? Not one bit. Am I shook, because this means he loves me too? I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t!

I better not need permission to scream right now. Also, the next time someone wants to shout “the gp doesn’t know this song 😭,” remind them that Sir Elton John does, and he loves it. ARMY loves it too, and THAT is worth more than anything else. Can’t say it “made no noise 😭✋🏽” or “🦗🦗🦗🦗” when one of the most legendary musicians alive is singing along, talking about it, and you’re talking about it too.

I don’t know, I just love watching legends supporting legends.
