Cameron Philip Wants You In His “Arms Tonight”

There may not be many more things on this planet that satisfy Cameron Philip more than writing a song that comes straight from his heart. The multi-genre artist from Canada has been using his music as a way to open up about his experiences with mental health, love, and anything else that comes to mind. In his new single “Arms Tonight,” Cameron shares a very personal story that he’ll not only hold on to, but hopes you will too!

Cameron Philip’s journey started out on YouTube, as he made reaction videos and dub videos seen by millions. He’s made plenty of waves in Canada, having won Hip-Hop Artist of the Year at the 2017 and 2018 Niagara Music Awards. The following year, he took home the award for Song of the Year for “Pretender.” This propelled him to release his first two albums, The Adventure and Feelings and Failures, all in 2019.

But in 2020, things got a whole lot crazier for Cameron. Being a K-Pop content creator and a huge fan of BTS, Cameron was in for the surprise of his life! A clip of Cameron rapping his own verses to “Black Swan” was featured in Glamour’s “You Sang My Song” episode with BTS, and he surely left the guys in awe. Despite the pandemic putting the world around him on pause, Cameron continued to work hard on new material, and ended up releasing a seven track EP titled Neo: Dreamland.

The gears in Cameron’s brain are still moving along. He’s currently working on his next album Love Punch, set for release this fall. “Arms Tonight” is here to set the mood, as well as showcase Cameron’s gift of being able to make a song that is sad in nature sound quite happy. Cameron says, “For me, the song is very special because it’s about someone that I love very much, and it talks about how I want to spend my final moments with them so that I can spend eternity happy forever. Any time I write a song about/for someone, it becomes much more special to me because I tend to hold those that I love a lot higher than I hold myself.”
