Lizzo Channels Her Inner ARMY With “Butter” Cover At BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

Lizzo’s love for BTS isn’t a rumor, it’s a solid hard fact!

On Thursday, Lizzo joined BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge for a special performance of her latest single “Rumors.” She also took a moment to remind everyone she’s a proud member of the BTS ARMY, by performing her the group’s 2x Platinum single “Butter.”

Host Charlie Hedges asked Lizzo about her choice to cover “Butter,” and it seemed like her rendition was simply something that needed to be done. Lizzo said, “I’m really a sucker for people who make positive music. I have dedicated my artistry to making positive music, and BTS does just that. The world has fallen in love with them because they’re so sweet and pure, and they’re just good hearted. I wanted to bring some more positivity into the world via their song! It’s a great song, it’s so funky.”

This is far from the first time Lizzo has let the world know about her love for BTS. On multiple occasions, she’s spoken highly about the guys on Instagram Live… and claimed Jimin and V as her biases!

Last week, Lizzo even posted a video clip on Twitter of a small freestyle paying homage to V and Jimin’s friendship.

Rocking a black VMin tube top, Lizzo added her own doses of funk and soul into “Butter.” Despite “Butter” being four months old, Lizzo’s rendition of the song is proof (to anyone who may need it) that the impact of the song hasn’t died down one bit! “Butter” also spent 10 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, is currently at #7 on the Billboard Global Excluding U.S. chart, and recently received its RIAA Double Platinum certification.

A queen celebrating our kings? We all love to see it. Check out Lizzo’s cover of “Butter” now!
