Get A Taste Of flowerkid’s New Single “vodka orange juice”

Joe Brennan

Flynn Sant, aka flowerkid, has blossomed into an artist you’ll want to keep your eyes on! After being given a Yamaha keyboard as a gift from his aunt, he realized he truly had a thing for music… although, perhaps calling it a “thing” might be an understatement.

As a teen growing up in Sydney, flowerkid would write and produce his own songs from the comfort and safety of his bedroom. Making music was his way of being able to better understand his emotions, and navigate through the challenging world around him. Coming to terms with his trans identity while attending a Catholic school AND going through a breakup with his first love wasn’t easy at all, but being able to write songs helped him realize he wasn’t alone.

In particular, flowerkid’s debut single “Late Night Therapy” allowed him to realize he was truly capable of turning dark situations into songs that will serve as a light in the lives of his rapidly growing fanbase. Expect his new single “vodka orange juice” to do just that. Music is here for flowerkid, and flowerkid’s music is here for you!

The track is about all the times people have said things like this to me – at parties, at bars and clubs,” flowerkid says of his latest offering. “Over time, it becomes strenuous to fight these people. They are threatened by what they can’t understand (or haven’t tried to) and it takes a massive toll on me personally. It was hugely cathartic writing this song. I was on the coast in a caravan by the water, reflecting on my past. I did it in one take and started crying by the time I got to the last chorus. I hope when other people are listening to this, they feel the same way. If you are listening and feel like you are not accepted for who you are – please know that you are loved. My heart goes out to all of you. flowerkid xx”
