It’s a moment that has been long awaited by Khalid and those who love him dearly. The dynamic superstar has released his new single “Present,” along with a huge update on his forthcoming mixtape!
While it may have been a minute since we’ve heard some new tunes from Khalid, “Present” has a bright, bold, modern R&B sound that will let the world know he’s back and better than ever. Speaking on his sonic choice for the song, Khalid says, “I’ve had the chance to listen to a lot of music and also push myself creatively while I’m recording. My Mom raised me on R&B and whether it’s the harmonies or melodies, it will always be a part of my music.”
He continues, “’Present’ is just the beginning and I love that it has a dual meaning. It feels good to be more ‘present’ after such a trying year in the pandemic and it’s also a ‘present’ for my fans that have been with me every step of the way.”
Khalid is also making sure Christmas will come early for many this year. On December 3rd, Khalid will be releasing his new mixtape Scenic Drive, via Right Hand Music Group/RCA Records. The project will include “Present,” and will serve as a companion piece to his 2018 EP Sun City.
