Get To Know GIRL907!

Sisters Rachele Lynae and Heather Cole are creating sounds that could very well serve as the description in the textbook definition for pop. After singing in church and school as kids, the two decided to pursue their own creative paths as adults. Little did they know, their paths would intertwine once again, with Rachele and Heather performing together as the effervescent pop duo GIRL907!

HOW IT (TRULY) STARTED

Rachele and Heather grew up in Alaska, and loved singing with their family. Their father was a fisherman, but he also played the guitar and sang. This led the girls to develop an unconditional love for music early on, with the two writing songs together as kids. Determined to take their songwriting skills to the next level, the two decided to enroll in courses at Belmont University.

“I went to Belmont first, then I just kinda kept trying to talk (Heather) into coming as well,” says Rachelle. It worked. We both ended up at Belmont!”

While the two had totally different artistic aspirations, coming back together to work on a project was just about inevitable.

“Our genres were so different,” Heather says. “Rachelle was really deep into the country scene, and I was always more drawn to pop. That was more true to my artistry, so we kinda had different goals. It didn’t make sense before for us to do a project together, but Rachelle had written this killer pop music, and I was like HEYYY! We should do something together!”

Just like that, GIRL907 was born.

DOIN’ IT FOR THE FUN

In the very beginning, Rachele and Heather just wanted to have some fun together. They didn’t have any major expectations set, but were excited to see which direction things could go in. If anything, their goal was to simply show their authenticity as sisters through their music, and just enjoy the ride!

FEELING THE MUSIC

GIRL907 hopes that listeners will truly be able to feel and form a bond with their music. “Music is about connection,” “I think there’s so many things where everyone is so different. There’s so much crazy division going on in the world right now, so when people are listening to our music, I hope they’re finding a common ground where they can say, ‘HEY… I RELATE TO THIS! It makes me something.’ It’ll make you feel human, and make you feel alive.
