When absolutely everything seems to be going right, the last thing you want is for that great feeling to come to an end. Taska Black and Dasha are promising to not let it go prematurely with their new single “Going Nowhere”!
Taska spilled, “Sometimes a song just falls into place from the start. When Dasha, Annie, and I did our first session together to write this song, there was such a great dynamic and we embodied exactly what I wanted to say. It’s about ensuring someone you care about that you’re there for them and will be there for them no matter what. Both Dasha and Annie are so incredibly talented and two of my favorite people to make music with. I tend to overanalyze everything I make but this is one of those songs that just didn’t need lots of changes. It just felt right to keep the song close to what it originally was and leave that magic of our first session intact.“
We were messing around with Taska trying to get him to spill the tea on his relationship, life, and really anything that could inspire us to write about. He then said the phrase, which turned out to be the hook of the song, “I promise I ain’t going nowhere”. He was referencing his relationship with his girlfriend of many years, and Annie and I thought it was the sweetest thing ever. It was so fun writing about Taska’s life and taking a step back from it always being about the guy drama going down in mine. After I sent Taska the demo vocals, he liked them so much we kept them for the master! This release is the start of something really incredible. It’s different from all of my other single releases so I’m excited to meet and engage with a whole new audience. – Dasha
